Sorry for releasing this update a few days early, I'm taking a break for the week, so I pushed this dev update out slightly ahead of schedule! I hope you enjoy, and look forward to showing you more!
Hey everyone! Welcome to the fourth development update for Project YVR. Thanks for sticking around, and I apologize for not being able to release dev updates as often as I used to, mainly because of school. However, I hope to still keep pace with the roadmap as I continue to develop Project YVR.
There are a lot of things to show you this week!
Firstly, I have made a new website! While there are many reasons why I made a new website, the main reason is that I can do a lot more things with the Wix Website Builder than I could with Google Sites, and I'm also more familiar with Wix, so I have transitioned to this new platform. I am still adding to the website, so you might see some new pages, or things that don't work on other pages, but I will update the website frequently to make sure everything works properly.
Now, let's move into the progress made on Project YVR. Firstly, you may have noticed the cover photo from 2 weeks ago for the previous dev update had transparent glass. I will now be remodeling parts of the terminal, but instead of using reflective materials, I will instead use transparent materials, and create a basic interior for the v0.5 beta launch (refer to the dev roadmap page). I intend on making the interior more detailed, however, for now, I will probably stick to benches, pillars, and other large objects, and depending on how the airport performs, I will add more in the future.
I have also partly modeled departures at the airport, however, this is far from complete and more detail will be added in the coming weeks and months. Also, a bit more detail has been added to the control tower, making it look more accurate.
I have also started modelling and adding simple textures to the Pier B and Pier C area. I have more limited data on this part of the terminal, but I am hoping to complete this part of the terminal to a high degree of accuracy.
(This screenshot was taken on an old version of ProjectYVR, I am aware that the coloring looks off, and I will fix this material in Blender for the next update)
Thank you for reading this dev update, and I can't wait to show you more of Project YVR in 2 weeks time!
Next Update: 1 October 2021

And, here are some comparisons! (Please note these screenshots were taken on a slightly older version of Project YVR, so some details may be missing)
The first comparison is between default CYVR in Microsoft Flight Simulator and Project YVR.
The second comparison is between real-life CYVR and Project YVR! Still a bit too early for comparisons like this, but here's the progress so far!
