Hello everyone! It's been many months since I started development of Project YVR, and the model has made a lot of progress since I've started.
However, I have some bad news.
I will unfortunately be cancelling the alpha program. Due to an unforseen issue with the way the SDK works in the latest update, I have been unable to package the airport, as I cannot save it until all taxiways are redone and linked to parking stands. The model of the airport is not affected by this issue.
Instead, I have decided to complete the model of the airport, and then work in the SDK to add other props and models to make the airport more realistic. Even if Asobo fixes this issue, I think that this will be a better direction to go in, as I feel that feedback in a later stage of development would be more helpful, as some parts of the airport are still very unfinished at the moment.
Thank you to the 6 testers that have been giving me feedback over the past few months on each iteration of the airport. While the airport is still very unfinished, your feedback has helped me improve the airport in many areas, taking the airport in a direction that I feel very good about.
Moving forward, I will be using my Discord server as more of a sneak peek behind the scenes of the airport's development, rather than testing opportunities. The airport will go straight into an Open Beta when it is ready on flightsim.to.
Regarding the airport's modelling progress, I have completed the bulk of the basic modelling and texturing work around Pier A, B, and C. Over the next few weeks, I hope to complete basic modelling for the entire airport, so I can start moving into smaller details, and start working towards an eventual release somewhere in 2022.
I will not be including any screenshots in this development update, I just wanted to let everyone know that while the direction of this project has shifted a lot over the past few months, I am still working on it :)
